Bexar County Flood Control Capital Improvement Program
Bexar County’s Flood Control Capital Improvement Program is a 10-year, $500 million initiative that was established in 2007. This Program funds watershed management and flood control capital improvement projects on a regional, rather than jurisdictional, basis throughout Bexar County and addresses flood control challenges within the limits of San Antonio and other suburban cities. City of San Antonio Bond Program
San Antonio is located within a nationally recognized area called flash flood alley. An estimate $2 billion is needed to address flooding in San Antonio by bringing the drainage infrastructure to current design standards. A combined $280 million was funded with the 2007 and 2012 Bond Programs dedicated to drainage and flood control projects.
